The pressure tank HYDROPHORE, hydropneumatic vessel without bladder inside, is used as an HYDROPAN vessel ( bladder inside ). It is connected with the water network, or as a shunt before the pumps, or at the end of the main exhaust pipe ( surge tank ).
The pressure tank HYDROPHORE has no bladder inside, and, as a water gate is rarely airtight, you will need to introduce a small quantity of water into the vessel, and shutdown the water gate to get a good tightness before proceeding to the pre-inflation. In relation with the using of the vessel HYDROPHORE, the pre-inflation will be the same than proceeded with a vessel HYDROPAN ( with bladder inside ). Please look at the corresponding form.

The pressure tank HYDROPHORE ( without bladder inside - the bladder, separating air and water ), there is a permanent dissolving of air into water. So it is necessary to restore the initial volume of air inside the tank to maintain a perfect efficiency of the vessel.
Manual air restoration - The lack of air is detected by an inflow into the level gauge. Proceed to the complement of air using a mobile compressor. A weekly complement is sufficient. Automatic air restoration - The vessel can be fitted out with probes or level gauge with contacts, which send the informations a connected fixed air compressor. The normal functionning level in the tank corresponds to the stop point of the air compressor. The level for starting the air compressor, is commonly 10 to 15 cm below the up described normal level. In case of using as surge vessel, Taking into consideration that the normal level is always overtook ( ie : static level ) whether as dynamic, or during the wave following the residual waterhammering, It will be necessary to temporize the air-compressor Starting and Stoping, to avoid its too rapid deterioration. See here beside the setting diagram for probes or level gauge contacts. |
