The surge vessel HYDROPAN for drinkable water is connected with the water network, or as a shunt just after the pumping station, or at the end of the main exhaust pipe.

As all hydropneumatic vessels HYDROPAN must be pre-inflated.

A surge analysis has been done, so the exact pre-inflating pressure has been exactely calculated - This data must be applyed.

No surge analysis done. The following data must be collected in order to realize this study. This will permit to verify if the caracteristics of the surge vessel are up-to-date.

FOR ANY PRE-INFLATION VALUE YOU MUST ALWAYS LOOK FOR LEAKS

Test all junctions of the «gas network» with leaks detector ( aerosol or foam with a brush ). Don't hesitate to clamp a little bit more to solve the micro leaks. A micro leak on a vessel corresponds to a loss of 1 to 2 bar in 24 hours, and this vessel is rapidly out service in a few days. If no leak has been detected at the pre-inflating pressure, check the leaks again at the static pressure. A micro-leak is more easily detected at 10 bar than at 2 or 3 bar.

TANK WITH LEVEL GAUGE :

As the level gauge is obligatorily connected to the «gas network» the juctions must be done wit a particular attention. Most of problems about loss of air are caused by micro-leaks on level gauges connections. A non detected and not solved micro-leak, means a loss of 1 to 2 bar of pre-inflation for a 24 hours period, and quickly, a too high starting frequency of the pump with a corresponding risk to burn its motor.
